Floyd Ormsbee is presently an Instructor in the Organizational Studies Unit and the Engineering and Global Operations Management Program of the Clarkson University School of Business – a small, private research university located in Potsdam, New York, a Visiting Instructor at SUNY Potsdam – a small public teaching college located in Potsdam, New York, owner of Genaffex Training and Consulting – a consulting firm located in Ogdensburg, New York, and an affiliate of BizXcel, Inc., a consulting firm located in Brockville, Ontario. 

He is completed his Ph.D. dissertation at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario working under the tutelage of Dr. Linda Duxbury, a well-known educator, consultant, speaker and author. Working with one of the “Top 5 Employers in Canada” for his data collection, the topic of his dissertation is generational issues related to the psychological contract. Having conducted in-depth personal interviews with Generation X middle managers concerning the psychological contract as well as teaching hundreds of GenY students, he has gained valuable insight into the issues organizations will be facing during the upcoming generational transitions in the workplace.  

Prior to joining Clarkson University, Ormsbee previously held teaching appointments with SUNY Canton (State University of New York) in Canton, New York and SUNY Potsdam in Potsdam, New York. He has taught undergraduate courses in Organizational Behavior, Negotiations and Relationship Management, Organizational Policy and Strategy, Principles of Management, and Leadership as well as graduate level courses in Negotiations and Relationship Management and a seminar in Human Resource Management Special Topics (concentrating on the employment relationship).  
Prior to beginning his teaching and consulting career, he worked in the Admissions Office at Clarkson University, worked for 12 years in the insurance industry as an agent and broker, and worked for several years as a Convenience Store Manager and Assistant Regional Supervisor for a regional petroleum retailer.  
His research in the area of generational issues has led to consulting, presentation and speaking engagements including:
•being featured as the keynote speaker at the annual conference of the “Worldwide Workplace Web” in Chicago, Illinois speaking on issues related to the diversity of generational desires concerning workspace design
•being featured as the keynote speaker at the Mount St. Vincent University “Co-op Symposium” in Halifax, Nova Scotia speaking on issues of generational diversity in the workplace
•leading a half-day roundtable discussion with human resource officers from the Canadian mutual insurance industry concerning the upcoming GenY transition
•a discussion presentation with members of the Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter of the Canadian Society of Association Executives concerning the upcoming changes in the labor market related to the changes in characteristics of generations
•being featured as a guest resource speaker on the “Blog Talk Radio” program for potential employers concerning hiring GenY workers for iJobs.com
•several keynote speeches for regional groups on generational issues
•a monthly webinar conference series for a large international corporate travel company concerning creating workplace harmony among diverse generations
•addressing members of various service and honor societies in the Clarkson and local communities on generational issues
•an invitation to participate in a global textbook authoring team.
